2 Chainz Freed

Fans of rapper 2 Chainz will be relieved to know that the “No Lie” hit maker has been freed from police custody. As previously reported, 2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, was arrested at LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday, May 22 after police mistook a piece of his jewelry for brass knuckles. Today, the emcee decided to speak out about his ordeal and reported to MTV News that the entire ordeal was a character assassination attempt by the NYPD.  “They tried to assassinate my character, they tried to assassinate my swag,” 2 Chainz told MTV News. “It was just a negative dilemma earlier where someone misconstrued a piece of jewelry for a weapon and stuff.”

Since then 2 Chainz has also spoken out on his verified Twitter account and wrote to fans,”Sorry to alll the negative people who wanted me out the way… kant let u have the game bak that ez.”

A new verse from the rapper was released May 15, this time on the remix to Justin Bieber’s pop hit, “Boyfriend.” –danielle canada
