Mixtape Mondays: Jabari ESC ‘Super F—— Decent’

ESC

Hailing from the eastside of Chicago’s South Side (yes, that’s a thing), Jabari ESC is back with a new mixtape called Super F—–n Decent and he’s out to play no games.

From the “Decent” intro (“We know we’re better than you. We don’t give a f— if you know it or not.”) to the closing song “On That” (“I got the rawest s–t around at the crib…”), SFD is filled top to bottom with good old fashioned battle bars with Chicago aesthetic. Despite production from a handful of producers (C-Sick, Chase Davis, Matt Monsta, Anthem, Calid Bowen, and Oneder), the sonic landscape manages to sound cohesive and doesn’t lose you. Other guests include Gee-Q and Pheel.

At a sleek 10 tracks, it’s clear that Jabari wanted this collection to feature his voice and ideas without much filler. Nothing fancy here. Just beats and bars the way mixtapes should be.

Standout tracks include “Decent” (Intro), “Get Ya S–t Straight” featuring Gee-Q”, and “Ride Wit It”.
