Brandy admits she was disappointed over poor ‘Two Eleven’ sales

Brandy - Album Sales Cover

There’s no question that Brandy is still seen as a living legend of R&B, but like many music icons from the ‘90s, Brandy has struggled to connect with music’s new generation of R&B fans and her sales over the past decade have shown that disconnect. With her latest album, Two Eleven, Brandy seemed on the verge of a comeback, but with sales of the album having stalled at about 180,000 copies, Brandy is now venting about her pop music decline and admitting she’s disappointed in the reception to her music.

“Am I happy with the sales of Two Eleven? Honestly, no. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate everyone who supported it and appreciated it,” Brandy said in a recent video interview with France’s Da Vibe about Two Eleven. “Would I have loved for it to reach more people? Absolutely because, I say this humbly, the work is just so great.”

“When something is very special you want for it to connect with as many people as it possibly can,” she added.

But despite the disappointment, Brandy says she’s already back at work on what will be her seventh studio album.

“Yes, I have started the process of working on the new album. I’m just putting it all together — putting the vision together,” said Brandy, who revealed she wants to work with Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, Sean Garrett and Bangladesh

Well, whether Brandy does or doesn’t reclaim a seat at the top of the charts again, we hope she’s enjoying simply being one of the few stars from her era who is still making music and touring consistently.
