After drumming up controversy with a neck tattoo that many believe resembled his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, Chris Brown traveled to the tattoo parlor once again to get some new ink. As previously reported, Chris Brown caused a firestorm online when he was photographed with a woman’s face etched across his neck that many believed depicted a bruised and bloodied Rihanna after their 2009 domestic abuse incident. Reps for the singer quickly denied those reports, however, and said it was a “sugar skull,” a symbol of El Dia De Los Muertos or the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday.
Brown’s PR team might have a new fire to put out now that the singer’s added a new tattoo to his growing collection. The tattoo, which was designed by artist John Petro, is of a fighter jet modeled after a rose with thorns across Brown’s abdomen. Interestingly enough, the body art could very well be symbolic of Rihanna considering that the songstress recently got a tattoo in the same location.
Earlier this week, Rihanna debuted a tattoo of the Goddess Isis underneath her breasts that she says is symbolic of her late grandmother, whom she affectionately called “GranGran Dolly.” Now just days later, Brown’s ink has been placed in the same position.
Neither Brown nor Rihanna have spoken on the placement of their new body art, but fans are doing plenty of talking. Both Brown and Rihanna’s social media pages have been flooded with fans urging them to reconnect: “Just get back together already!” said a fan on Instagram.
“You and Rih both get similar tats in the exact same spot then post it to Instagram. It’s so obvious, we know u both still love each other,” chided another.
Coincidence or symbolic of their feelings for one another?
