Chris Brown Invited Back To ‘Good Morning America,’ No Charges, Solid Sales

Yesterday, we reported that several network executives at ABC were intent on seeing Chris Brown banned and would possibly press charges against him. But now, it seems that they may have had a change of heart. “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts has announced that the network has extended an invitation to Brown to return to the show and is declining to file a complaint against the singer.

“We wish him the absolute best and … we’ve extended the invitation to him, and I sure hope that he takes us up on it because we’d love to have another chat with him,” said Roberts on a segment of yesterday’s show.

Brown went into a rage on Monday, smashing a window and harassing a segment producer after Roberts asked him questions concerning his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Roberts claims that Brown was given a heads-up about the questions and was shocked at his violent outrage.

“Anytime we have a guest here on the program, we let them know ahead of time the subject matter, the topics that we’re going to discuss and, even right before the interview, I said that to Chris, and I was shocked like everybody else was,” said Roberts.
According to vibe.com, a source from ABC explained that Brown is likely to accept the invitation and may appear on the show before week’s end.

Besides the invitation, tmz.com is reporting that ABC has decided not to press charges against Brown, sparing him a parole violation and a possible trip to jail.

According to ew.com, ABC also still wants Brown to perform next week at “Dancing With The Stars” in support of his new album, F.A.M.E.  And to add to the volatile singer’s good fortune, sales of the new album appear to not be affected by the incident. The final first-week tally is expected to be somewhere between 200,000 and 400,000.

What do you think of ABC forgiving Brown and the success of F.A.M.E.? Do you think he should return to Good Morning America?
