Yes, it’s true. As writers, sometimes our personal feelings spill over into the pixels and sometimes at the most unexpected times. And that truth was never more apparent than when Chad Taylor of central Iowa’s independent weekly, Cityview, recently reviewed Chris Brown’s latest album, Fortune, and summed up the project with just six scathing words about Brown.

“Chris Brown hits women. Enough said,” wrote Taylor.

Yes, you read that right. Feel free to drop your jaws, pick them up and shake your head, if you like.

Taylor later wrote on Twitter about the album, “I got it for free and it wasn’t worth the price. RT @WeLoveChrezB@ChadTaylor#BUYFORTUNE.”

Taylor’s pithy review, which references Brown’s 2009 assault conviction against his then-girlfriend Rihanna, wasn’t without its fans. Several of Taylor’s followers applauded the write for his, ahem, blunt honesty.

“impeccable review” said one fan,  and yet another said, “Finally, the media get it right, well reviewed Chad Taylor.”

Surprisingly, Brown has yet to respond.

Well, it looks like bad boy pop star will never be able to escape his abusive past, and all we have to say is one word: Wow!

If you want to share a word or six about the story, let us know in the comments section. And check out some of Brown’s biggest media fiascos after the cut. – nicholas robinson

Chris Brown is an awesome artist. Tell Taylor to get a life an leave Chris alone.  People make mistakes. We all do. His pass has nothing to do with his future. Practice your faith. Pray for him. Forgive and move on and wish him the best.

Allow me point you to the last two words of the review.  The first four words is exactly everything I need to know to determine whether I want to buy Chris Brown’s album, listen to his music, or support him in any way.  If you need more information, then there’s something wrong with you.

Hopefully Chad Taylor is not judged forever on the worst thing he ever did as a teenager.

What do mistakes maken as a teenager have to do with a GROWN MAN biting his significant other, repeatedly hitting her, slamming her head into a glass window, and trying to throw her out of the moving vehicle they were in? Teenage mistakes vs the reality of that situation are completely incomparable.

What is this? 2012, I coulda sworn this was 2012, at least the last time I checked it was 2012. not 2009, not 2010, not 2011. If you can’t seem to deal with the fact that the victim of said incident has moved on, then you need to keep it movin. But that’s just my opinion.

Chad Taylor is biased and attention-seeking.  If you don’t like it don’t listen.  Stop using pseudo “critiques” as a way to further your profile.  It is obvious that Mr. Taylor is a man without sin.  It is also obvious that the mainstream media has made a killing off of the misfortune of two people of color (Brown and Fenty). Enough is enough!
