It’s never been a secret that DMX is no fan or friend of Drake. In fact, X just plain doesn’t like the “Take Car”e emcee. And that unabashed disdain was never more apparent than when X appeared on a recent episode of MTV’s “RapFix Live” and tore into Drake over work on Aaliyah’s posthumous album.

During the interview with host Sway Callaway, X spoke about hip-hop’s new generation of “incapable” emcees and immediately targeted Young Money’s crown prince, Drake.

“Drake,” DMX blurted out, interrupting Sway mid-sentence. “He has talent, but it’s kinda redundant, it’s kinda the same all the time to me personally. It’s an annoying sound.”

X went on to compare Drake’s sound to that of a washing machine and mocked him while making a grating noise. But it’s not just Drake’s sound that annoys X, it’s the fact that Drake is helming Aaliyah’s new album, and is rumored to be excluding her former friends and mentors, including Timbaland, Missy Elliott and presumably X himself, from the project.

“I’m kinda feelin’ some kinda a way about the fact that you been commissioned, that you been blessed, you’ve been given the opportunity to do the Aaliyah album, yet you don’t include anybody that she worked with personally,” X said of the project.

Blackground Records, Aaliyah’s label, which is run by her uncle, Barry Hankerson, released a statement saying that Missy and Timbo would be involved, but Missy’s manager, Mona Scott-Young has claimed that no one has reached out to Missy to appear on the project.

“How do you disregard what this woman did? What this beautiful angel did and say, ‘Oh OK, I’m gonna take it for myself because I’m hot right now and I’m feelin’ myself,’” he asked rhetorically. “How do you just go there with it? Your balls ain’t that big, son.”

Well, considering Drake’s m.o. for beefs, we doubt that he’s going to respond anywhere other than on wax, but clearly there’s no love lost between the two emcees. Andt they’re definitely not alone in the world of beef. Check out some other hip-hop feuds between the old and new generation below. – nicholas robinson

Dang X. u need 2 go underground for a while to see what’s up then come back with a new more mature approach to creating some music and getting business done. Does Drake have to include (carry) her former friends including you on this project or can he do it like we Americans like to do it, how we want? You seem more like a baby crying than a dog barking. Get hot again maybe he will include you on a project. I don’t know how big his balls are but I wouldn’t carry dead weight either. Trying to make a brother feel small and guilty aint a good way to do business. Try another approach to get back in the game. That negative energy aint going nowhere.
