After months of rumors that Drake has been feuding behind the scenes with his Young Money bosses Lil Wayne and Baby, the Canadian rap star addressed the speculation at a recent tour stop on Wayne’s “I Am Music II Tour,” claiming he’s a Young Money artist for life.
According to hiphopwired.com, on April Fools’ Day, a story surfaced that Drake was asked to leave his record label after a dispute with Wayne over unpaid royalties. After Drake got wind of the story, he quickly dispelled the rumor during a performance with Wayne at Washington D.C.’s Verizon Center on April 3.
“You see today, when I landed in D.C. and I got off the plane, this n—- looked me in my eyes and he asked me, ‘Did you drop out of Young Money?’And I looked him right back in his eyes and I said, ‘Boy, are you out your m———–’ mind?!’ Man, I want this s— ‘Forever!” explained Drake before performing his hit song “Forever.”
Drake is currently working on his as yet untitled sophomore album for Young Money Records.
