Funkmaster Flex Arrested After Wife Claims He Attacked Her

Prominent New York Hot 97 FM DJ Funkmaster Flex was arrested Feb. 4 after his wife, Monica Joseph-Taylor, called the police alleging that her DJ husband sent her threatening text messages, pushed her down and then stomped her cell phone earlier in the morning.

When the cops arrived at the couple’s home, Flex was nowhere to be found but the police were able to arrest him later in the day when they found him in his car near their home. Flex has been charged with harassment, criminal harassment and criminal mischief and was released on $500 bail. He was also ordered to stay away from his wife, pending a hearing.

According to Bossip.com, when reporters caught up to Joseph-Taylor — an Emmy-nominated ex-producer of the “Live With Regis and Kathy Lee” show — outside of the couple’s Westchester home, she was less than forthcoming about the incident.

“You’d have to buy me dinner,” said Joseph-Taylor. “I would love everyone to respect the privacy of my family — for me and my children,”

This isn’t the first time Flex has had a run in with cops over an alleged assault. Back in 2003, Flex was arrested in New York on assault charges for allegedly choking and punching DJ Steph Lova, a rival DJ from Power 105.

Guess old habits really do die hard. Perhaps it’s time for Flex to seek counseling …  –nicholas robinson
