Gucci Mane's Legal Battles Continue

It looks like Gucci Mane won’t be calling himself a free man anytime soon. Just a week after reports proved that the Atlanta rapper was still in prison, despite Waka Flocka Flame’s claim that his hip-hop comrade was free, Gucci Mane has now been hit with two more legal blows. On Oct. 28, Gucci’s motion for a reduced prison sentence was denied and the rapper was also served with a civil suit.

Gucci Mane was sentenced to six months in prison in September after he pleaded guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct stemming from a January incident when the rapper pushed a woman out of his moving vehicle in Atlanta.

Gucci picked up 36-year-old Diana Graham at South Dekalb Mall on Jan. 28, under the pretense that the two would grab breakfast together. After Graham got in Gucci’s white Hummer, the rapper offered her $150 to go with him to his hotel room. After Graham declined and asked to be driven back to the mall, Gucci pushed her out of his moving Hummer, causing Graham minor injuries.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gucci’s attorney’s proposed to the court on Friday that Gucci perform a show to benefit the Dekalb County Battered Women’s Shelter in exchange for a reduced sentence for the rapper. However, DeKalb State Court Judge Eleanor Ross denied the proposal.

“I don’t think it would be appropriate to let him out just because he’s a rapper,” Ross explained.

Sadly for Gucci, the bad news just kept coming. Just minutes after hearing the judgment from Ross, Gucci was served with a civil suit from Graham, who identified him by his ice cream cone face tattoo.

And Gucci won’t be off the hook once he’s finally out of prison. Once his sentence ends, Gucci will be placed on several months of probation and fined $3,000. Gucci must also attend and complete 12 weeks of anger management classes, is forbidden to contact Graham and must pay $5,090.54 in restitution to the victim for her medical bills. –nicholas robinson
