Years Active: 9 Strong
Stiletto 2 The Pedal
What big names have you worked with?
Bun B, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Trae Tha Truth, J Dawg, Lil Keke … Houston’s finest.
What can your fans expect from you on the new project?
S2TP is basically my street album, all joints are original with an exception of two records , the way it’s being promoted and marketed — it’s identical to an album; however mixtapes are the new albums. It also demonstrates my growth as an artist, the beats you’ll hear on this one are kray, different from previous mixtapes, but still true to who I am as an artist. Cory Mo, Willie Stax and Big E Beatz are the producers I worked with on the project. It was illy working with each of them, they bring different flavors, but it all meshes exceptionally well on the project.
As the reigning female emcee in Houston how do you continue to make an impact in the male dominated industry?
Staying on my grizzy! I never take anything for granted. Creating opportunities and taking advantage of the ones that come my way. Continuing to put out good music, video blog’s, music videos and keeping my face out there.
How have you stayed successful in the true hip-hop and rap culture when so many other female artists are going pop?
Because that’s where my heart is, I do have new joints that have a poppish sound to them and I actually like the sound. To me it’s like hip-pop!
What other projects are you working on that our readers should know about?
I act as well, so I’ve been auditioning a lot, hopefully my fans will see me featured on a sitcom soon and in another movie. I’ve been juggling workshops and casting calls while working on S2TP. I’ve collaborated with lots of artist so I’m liable to be on any mixtape you put your hands on and I’m still releasing my video logs “Diary of an Indie Diva” on tumblr to keep my fans updated and tuned in.
