Iggy Azalea goes off on Australian branch of her record label

To say that Iggy Azalea has had an interesting last few months would be an understatement. From an ex-boyfriend threatening to leak a supposed sex tape, to confrontations with a paparazzo, to a brief yet awkward war of words with Snoop Dogg, Azalea has taken a crash course on the perils of fame.

Her latest lesson learned is that sometimes magazines can pay you a compliment and do you a disservice in the very same article.

One would think that landing at the top of Maxim Australia’s Hot 100 list would  be flattering to the “Fancy” singer, and it was, until she saw the cover and accompanying photos. Apparently the publication used photos from a 2011 Complex magazine photo shoot without Azalea’s permission. On Twitter, she expressed her disdain about her record label supplying the photos to be used after she asked them not to do so.

“Stop giving permission on my behalf for magazines to purchase images of me that have already been printed in major publications for covers”, she tweeted. “I think it’s awesome anyone would want me on the cover of a magazine, but there’s a right way to make that happen and the Australian label clearly aren’t respecting my wishes.”

Although perturbed with her label, Azalea did show gratitude to Maxim for the love adding “Thanks for the love and I’m sorry no one asked me. I would have love to have given an interview and done a shoot with u guys.”
