Kanye West is hard at work on his follow-up album to 2013’s controversial Yeezus, and once again the mercurial star has recruited legendary producer Rick Rubin to assist with the project. Rubin said as much during a recent interview with Zane Lowe of Radio 1.

The interview will be released this week, but NME reports that Rubin confirmed that he and West are working together while speaking with Lowe as part of an interview special that will be broadcast in four parts. It was recently reported in Billboard that Rubin is just one of many producers and artists who are working on West’s as-of-yet-untitled album.

Q-Tip, Mike Will Made-It, DJ Mustard, James Blake and French Montana all have reportedly collaborated with Kanye on new material set to be included on the release.

“Kanye West is coming in and we’re starting [to begin] looking at vocal ideas for things for the next album,” Rubin says.

Rubin was asked to help Kanye finish the Yeezus album shortly before it was due to be released last summer. The project was acclaimed, but proved to be polarizing among West’s longtime fans. Everyone from fellow hip-hop superstar 50 Cent to the late rock legend Lou Reed chimed in with an opinion on the dark, industrial-influenced album.
