Kendrick Lamar Reveals Crush on Brandy, Debuts High on Billboard Charts

It’s been one amazing week for Kendrick Lamar. His major label debut, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, has been showered with accolades from major publications, blogs and fans alike and his album was expected to debut with sales of over 200,000 copies. Now, the numbers are in and Kendrick Lamar’s album will debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

According to HITS Daily Double, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City moved 242,122 copies and was only bested by Taylor’s Swift’s monstrous fourth album, Red, which debuted at No. 1 with a gargantuan sales tally of 1.2 million copies.

Kendrick’s album also dominated on the iTunes album chart as well, landing at the No. 2 spot as well.

In related news, Kendrick’s Billboard success was highlighted by a new, intimate interview with Fuse, in which the Top Dawg/Aftermath emcee literally laid down on a leather couch and opened up about everything from his favorite cartoon character (Bugs Bunny), his retaliation against a female bully in second grade (his first and last time hitting a girl), and his biggest regret (not going to college).

But, one thing that definitely stood out above the rest was Kendrick’s admission that he had a longtime crush on Brandy.

“This is a trip, this is funny. When I was 7, I found this four-leaf clover and my wish was to meet Brandy for my birthday,” he said. “The wish never came true, though.”

We can’t wait to hear what Brandy thinks about Kendrick’s crush on her and, hopefully, if he does finally meet her, they’ll consider a collaboration. But, Kendrick certainly isn’t the only rapper with dreams of an R&B diva. Check out some other famous crushes below. –nicholas robinson
