LaTavia Roberson weighs in on Beyoncé's Super Bowl performance

All this week, fans, critics and stars alike have been talking about Beyoncé’s powerhouse performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, where she reunited with two of her Destiny’s Child group mates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. But, to everyone’s surprise, another former member, LaTavia Roberson, recently shared her thoughts on how Beyoncé did during the halftime show.

“Obviously, seeing Beyoncé perform was the highlight for me,” Roberson told Celebuzz on Monday. “I got a real surprise when both Kelly [Rowland] and Michelle [Williams] both popped-up on the stage like that.”

“I thought they all looked great and did a good job with their dance moves,” she said. “Beyoncé was especially amazing. She looked fabulous and her voice was really strong. During the performance somebody texted me to say they could not hear Kelly and Michelle singing. It was so noisy in the house where we watched the performance that I did not really notice anything wrong. But who knows? They probably had some technical problems.”

As many will recall, Roberson and other original member LeToya Luckett were booted from the group in 2000 and replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin, who quit six months later.

Despite their bitter past, Roberson seems to hold no ill will towards Beyoncé or the other remaining group members.

“It was great to see them all performing together and I have no bitter or bad feelings toward any of those women. I wish them all the best,” she said. “I am at a good place in my life and things always work out for a reason. I am working on several projects with both acting and music that are exciting to me.”

Roberson even added that she still keeps in contact with the girls.

“I actually saw Kelly at a mutual friend’s graduation in Atlanta last summer and we had fun catching up on old times — I am pleased that Destiny’s Child got back together for the Super Bowl — the fans seemed to really enjoy it too!” she said.

It’s good to see that all of the group mates have seemingly made peace with their past and, thankfully, there not the only ones who have done so. Check out some other friendly former group mates below. –nicholas robinson
