Although she’s entered a guilty plea for misdemeanor tax charges, the problems are continuing to add up for singer Lauryn Hill. Hill, 37, faces a three-year prison sentence after admitting she failed to file her taxes from 2005 to 2007. Now Hill, currently on bail till her November sentencing, is said to be swimming in even more unpaid tax debt to the tune of $446,386. TMZ reports that a civil judgment was entered against Hill on June 14 by a New Jersey court after the state found that the singer was responsible for the hefty tax bill.
The issue has not become a criminal matter, but could very well be added to her already ridiculous tax bill of $1.8 million. Hill previously tried to explain her back payment by noting that she withdrew herself from society to ensure the “safety of herself and her children.” –danielle canada
