Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee Bubbles, 27, who appeared in the promo video for the “Bad” single and accompanied him to star-studded premieres, is now living in a wildlife sanctuary in Wauchula, Fla., named Center for Great Apes.

At one time, he was one of the family. Bubbles was saved by Jackson, who passed away in 2009, from an animal testing laboratory in Texas. According to his sister, La Toya Jackson, Bubbles ate at the family dining table.

The moonwalking chimpanzee was not considered in the will and requires $13,000 per year for his care. He actually was moved out of Neverland Ranch in 2003, because he was hard to handle.

La Toya once paid a visit to see him there as part of an Animal Planet documentary filmed in 2010.

Michael and Bubbles were immortalized in three porcelain sculptures by Jeff Koons, which sold for $5.6 million during an auction in 2001.

Check out the pictures of Bubbles, who is chilling in Florida snacking and watching movies.
