Nas Performs With Swizz Beatz, AZ at ‘Life Is Good’ Concert: Instagram Photos
Nas celebrated the release of his new album Life Is Good by performing a private concert at Tammany Hall in New York. The crowd inside of the small venue was near capacity minutes after doors opened around 8 p.m.
Nas hit the stage shortly before 10 p.m. as DJ Green Lantern backed him on the turntables.
Before rapping, Nas explained why he called the album Life Is Good. “‘Life is Good’ is my daily mantra,” he said. “We wake up every morning and we’re thankful to see another day.”
He opened with “The Don,” from his new album, before taking partygoers down memory lane with several tracks from his classic debut album Illmatic. Most of Nas’ fans enjoyed reminiscing as he performed “Live at the BBQ,” “It Ain’t Hard to Tell,” and “The World Is Yours.”
He then introduced his former partner in rhyme, AZ. The two collaborated on “Life’s A Bitch,” “Phone Tap,” “Affirmative Action,” and they performed “Mo Money Mo Murder” for the first time together on stage.
Nas then transitioned into performing songs from his new album such as “Daughters,” “Loco Motive,” and “Queens Story.”
Swizz Beatz joined Nas on stage to perform the club banger “Summer On Smash.”
Nas ended the show with his ode to the divorce life, “Bye Baby.”
