Columbia Records has announced a new deal with superstar producer and artist Pharrell Williams. According to a press release from the label, the hit-maker responsible for two of the year’s biggest songs is now set to bring his talents to Columbia — and a new album is expected in 2014.

“When we excitedly partnered with Pharrell in January of this year, we felt it was his time again,” Columbia Records chairman and CEO Rob Stringer said in the press release. “Since then, ‘Blurred Lines’ and ‘Get Lucky’ have defined pop music in 2013. Now we are preparing to launch Pharrell as a global solo superstar in 2014. ‘Happy’ is just the beginning.”

Pharrell was the producer or co-producer on both Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines.” His innovative “24 hour video” for his single “Happy” was released in November.

This year, Pharrell has received seven Grammy nominations. He’s up for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), two nominations for Record of the Year (“Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines”), two nominations for Best Pop Duo/Performance (“Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines”), and two Album of the Year nominations for his work on projects by Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamar.
