Prince lets ‘bootleggers’ off the hook

If you’ve seen Prince perform live over the last few years, then you know he has a strict no photo or video policy enforced at his shows.

A handful of people recently found out just how strict as they were all (22 in total) sued for $1 million apiece for unlawfully posting footage of Mr. Purple Rain’s performances on their blogs and Facebook pages.

It’s possible that Prince just wanted to send a message and use them as an example, because after letting them sweat it out for two weeks, paperwork was recently filed in California federal court to dismiss the suit.

But there’s a hitch: the lawsuits were dropped without prejudice, which means he can very well refile them at his discretion.

Bet folks will think twice and heed his warnings now.
