Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend, Meek Mill, launched himself into a high-profile beef with Drake after he accused the Young Money MC of having a ghostwriter, But ironically enough, it ws Minaj who as at the heart of an alleged ghostwriting scandal last year after her ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, implied that he helped her with her lyrics. Although he initially denied that he wrote for Minaj, Samuels is now backtracking and slamming Minaj’s writing skills on his new diss track, “Lifeline.”

In the song, Samuels takes aim at Minaj’s boyfriend and claims he wrote Minaj’s lyrics for her latest album, The Pinkprint.

“This n—- bent outta shape with a gorilla face/ My bars on ‘The Pinkprint’ no one will ever match/ My d— print lil n—- u could never match.”

Samuels then claims on the record that he knew Minaj was cheating on him with Meek.

“Wasn’t a secret young bull / I knew everything / Hope you go platinum my n—- / She need a better ring / I thought I left her so she could move on to better things / Maybe ball player / Maybe a soccer player / Maybe a billionaire, like Mariah Care,” Samuels raps.

He later adds, “F— if you cheated / 12 years a slave anyway” before rhyming in the chorus “she’s your only lifeline to catch anyway.”

Samuels also takes a random shot at Meek’s body as well.

“I heard you told Philippe Chow you ain’t goin’ there / Well, guess what go to hell / How about you eat there / In every pic, you look surprised, all you do is stare  / You outta shape anyway you need to eat a pear,” Samuels rhymes.

But before the song closes, Samuels takes one last searing shot at Minaj’s pen game.

“Now that I’m gone, good luck with those punchlines / Sincerely yours, Safaree, flatline,” Samuels says.

As many in the hip-hop community have discussed over the past week, it’s not uncommon for rappers to get advice or help about writing their bars from the people in their camp. And we don’t doubt that Samuels was helping Minaj craft and select songs, the latter of which she’s admitted to. But we do doubt that he was a full-on ghostwriter behind her pen considering he only has A&R credit on the Pinkprint.

And now that Samuels has dropped this song, we have a better understanding of why Minaj went on a surprising rant about not having a ghostwriter at her recent Brooklyn, New York, tour stop.

“A b—- a— n—- can’t write my raps. You know why? You don’t have the heart or the mind frame or the motherf—— intellect b—- n—-,” Minaj yelled to the Brooklyn crowd.

Could these ghostwriting allegations get any worse at this point?
