Solange has been noticeably out of the public eye ever since video surfaced last month of her infamous elevator attack on Jay Z. But the fashionable it-girl made her public return at Monday night’s Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards to rave reviews. However, her return wasn’t without a bit of controversy as reports claim that Solange made a point to avoid designer Rachel Roy, who is rumored to be at the heart of Solange’s attack on Jay.

Shortly after the controversial video surfaced, rumors surfaced that Solange and Roy, who were once friends, had gotten into an argument at the Met Gala of Roy’s allegedly inappropriate relationship with Jay Z. Roy was previously married to Jay’s former BFF Damon Dash, but rumors claim that the two moguls both used to bed Roy and that she and Jay were still inappropriately flirting with each other before Solange’s attack.

“Solange yelled about Rachel on Beyoncé’s behalf, asking Jay, ‘How could you treat my sister like that?’” a source said. “Solange walked up and started screaming at Rachel. She was making a big scene.” However, a source for Roy claims that she and Jay never even spoke that evening.

Well, according to Us Weekly, on Monday night, Roy showed up to the CFDA Awards with Chrissy Teigen, while Solange showed up with Calvin Klein’s Women’s Creative Director Francisco Costa. However, both ladies reportedly made an effort not to get too close to each other.

“Rachel looked uncomfortable,” said a source. “They obviously didn’t want to run into Solange, and Solange’s people also tried to steer clear of them.”

We still don’t know the exact truth of what happened that night at the Met Gala but it’s clear that the world will be keeping an eye on Solange and Roy for a lot longer than both of them would like. – nicholas robinson
