Soulja Boy Apologizes to Fans for Arrest, Claims Not Guilty of Felony Charges

Rapper Soulja Boy is facing some pretty steep charges after being arrested on Oct. 18 in Temple, Ga., for felony drug and weapons possession. But shortly after being released from jail on the same day, Soulja Boy proclaimed his innocence to fans.


According to CBS Atlanta, after posting bond at Free At Last Bail Bonds in Temple, Soulja Boy was escorted by bodyguards to his car. On the way, the rapper spoke to around 50 fans as well as press who were waiting outside, telling them he’s innocent of all charges.


“I’m innocent, man. I love you all. I just want y’all to know I’m innocent,” said Soulja Boy.

Soulja Boy also took to Twitter to thank his fans for their support. “Aye can I have a real n—a moment? my fans was DEEP AS F–K OUTSIDE THAT JAIL MAN IM SORRY!!! thats love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,” tweeted Soulja Boy, who also apologized to his fans earlier in the day,  “thank you and i’m sorry. love you forever, seeing your letters and you standing outside that jail made me feel the love. my fans r the best.” The rapper also tweeted abou his new film, Soulja Boy: The Movie, which was also released on Tuesday.


The “Pretty Boy Swag” rapper was arrested earlier in the day, along with four other men when they were pulled over in Temple after police noticed that they’re rented Cadillac Escalade had a broken tail light. Officers claim that they detected a strong scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle and proceeded to search it. According to sources for CBS Atlanta, police found more than 5 ounces of marijuana, guns and $46,000 cash.

All five men are facing multiple felony charges, including possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
