No. 18 People…Hold On (1972) by Eddie Kendricks

The falsetto-voiced former Temptation had been a solo star for a couple of years before releasing this ambitious third album. Mostly written by Leonard Caston, Anita Poree and album producer Frank Wilson, People…Hold On works as both a series of mature, romantic odes to relationships and as a slice of socio-political commentary–especially on the title track and the stirring “Someday We’ll Have A Better World.”
