Last week’s big announcement that Jimmy Fallon former “SNL” star-turned-talk show host, will be taking over when Jay Leno departs The Tonight Show in 2014, fans were ecstatic to learn that the hip comedian will hopefully be bring a younger spin and demographic to the longest-running late night talk show on television.

The big question on many fans’ minds was regarding Fallon’s world famous band, hip-hop collective The Roots.

During an “impromptu” appearance yesterday (April 9th) sponsored by Red Bull Music Academy, Roots drummer/producer ?uestlove unofficially assured fans that he and the band will be making the move with Jimmy.

“‘The Tonight Show’ is coming to us. We are not going to ‘The Tonight Show,'” ?uestlove told Fuse when asked about the future plans of the group and the transition. “Basically, you know, it’s going to be the same show.”

“That’s a year from now,” he added. “Anything can happen. So right now we’re just very concerned and kind of just concentrating on still doing our thing at ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.'”

“We’re honored to kind of receive the baton and pass down tradition…Yeah, we’re staying,” ?uest assured.
