Rolling with rappers on the road can seem like all the rage for a young hip hop head. You win the envy and admiration of your fam and friends and you get to check out parts of the country few of your peers ever do. It can be an especially glam gig if you are a member of the star rapper’s inner circle.
But if you orbit on the outer rim of the rapper’s entourage, then you can tend to toil in abject obscurity doing thankless tasks that offer little upward mobility and even less access. Even with today’s economy some folk will pass on such jobs in rap.
