Yung Thug changes album name from ‘Tha Carter VI’ to ‘Tha Barter VI’

I was wondering when the news would break about Yung Thug changing the name of his album; only because I knew it had to be some kind of April Fool’s joke or something. I no longer have to wonder because recently in an instagram video I watched on Yung Thug’s IG page where he broke the news he was changing the name of his album to Tha Barter VI. He did, in fact, post on April 17 as well so maybe everything is still on track. Only time will tell.

Thug also mentioned the change was decided after he was hit with a lawsuit. Yeah, somehow getting served with papers does help a person have a change of heart on some decision making. Although he didn’t name Lil Wayne as the person who was responsible for the lawsuit. I imagine the name Lil Wayne wouldn’t be a bad guess. I’m sure Lil Wayne fans appreciate Yung Thug finally showing the respect he claims to have for Wayne. More than that, Reginae Carter is probably elated about the decision and now her IG followers don’t have to go ham on Thug on his album release date.

Four days ago Thug made a video on Instagram stating, tha carter vi

“I understand about the frustration Lil Wayne is having with his career, and I feel him on that. I would never beef with him or exchange words with him because this is a person I look up to. This is my idol.”

But what’s weird is that after Thug made the announcement on IG about Barter 6 and changing the name, in the next video he claims, “Carter VI will be out soon and the first appearance would be in New Orleans.”

Maybe he meant to say Barter VI and he totally forgot he had changed it. He opened the video pouring what appeared to be cough syrup into a cup, so perhaps he wasn’t feeling well and he simply forgot. Bloop!
