A White auxiliary officer has resigned after it was revealed that he made racially insensitive remarks aimed at Black people. According to reports by “ABC 5” in Fairview Park, Ohio, Aaron McNamara posted several racist remarks on videos posted on social media outlets.

On the videos, McNamara referred to Black people as “jungle monkeys” and “spooks.” He also revealed that he wished slavery was still a legalized practice in the United States.

“Abolishing slavery was the worst thing we could have done. Theses people should be exterminated.”

Once his comments were discovered, McNamara was forced to resign from the force. In a statement, he declined to call himself a racist and claimed that he didn’t remember making the racist statements during Black History Month in 2014. He also never denied making the statements.

McNamara was basically a volunteer and could assist in arrests, parades, and traffic control.

The Fairview Park Police said they didn’t see evidence of racism during McNamara’s initial background check.
