Radio One personality Sheila Stewart dies

Sheila Stewart death 

A Washington, D.C. radio personality has passed away after a tragic car accident. Sheila Stewart of Radio One fame died early Thursday morning in Atlanta, Georgia. The media personality was in town visiting her sister and working remotely in the city. Radio One representatives report that she was on her way to work at the time of her death.

Stewart reported the news on the Tom Joyner Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday and was on air from 6am- 6:3oam on Sundays.


Her radio career spanned 20 years and she worked diligently as the News and Community Affairs Director for Radio One-DC Stations, (93.9) WKYS-FM; (Praise 104.1) WPRS-FM; (1450)-WOL-AM); 1340-(WYCB-AM) and (102.3) WMMJ-FM.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor Bill Russell of The International Worship Center Church in Laurel, Maryland and her young son.
