NBA’s Steph Curry’s wife Ayesha Alexander’s hottest photos
The Golden State Warriors sharpshooting point guard Steph Curry is the single biggest story in the 2013 NBA playoffs so far. He is a soulless assassin when he is on the court. Just a few years removed from Davidson College, Curry has already developed the reputation as arguably the greatest shooter in the league today. The lithe 6-foot-3 point guard from Charlotte, N.C. is leading the Warriors to their greatest advancement through the playoffs in 20 years and his dizzying and devastating arsenal of missiles that he launches from long range has the Warriors poised to reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time in a generation.
Witnessing this from close range is his newlywed wife, Ayesha Alexander-Curry, his longtime love from his hometown. After the two were married after a two-year courtship, they released many photos from their nuptials.
Alexander and Curry met in youth group at the Central Church of God in Charlotte, N.C., which both their families attended.
“It’s funny, our parents used to make jokes about how cute we were together, but we didn’t know,” Stephen says.
Alexander was surprised that the two once lived in Toronto and loved the same Canadian candy. “I got him some fuzzy peaches, but I was so shy I didn’t say anything. I just handed them to him and walked off,” she laughs. Curry, equally timid, did not capitalize on her obvious interest in him. Yet.
After high school, Alexander moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Curry would soon make a trip out West for basketball camp, he sent her a Facebook message asking her to hang out.
“She tried to play me off, saying we could hang out another time if I was ever back in town,” Curry says. “She didn’t know I was coming back the next week.”
The two hung out inside and outside Hollywood, found that the had chemistry and mutual attraction and, once Ayesha moved back East, the two officially started dating. Curry incredible shooting range and captivating aerial display at Davidson College was starting to bring him national attention. Meanwhile, Ayesha continued her acting career ncluding a role on the series “Whittaker Bay” and a spot on “Hannah Montana.”
In 2009, a year after the legendary season when Curry and his compatriots made it all the way to the Elite 8 with the Wildcats, Curry decided to make the move to the NBA.
“I thought I was going to New York,” Stephen admits. “They had the 8th pick, but I went 7th to the Golden State Warriors. I don’t know what would have happened if I’d gone to New York. It was nice to have that decision made for us.”
After Curry got settled in the NBA, he and Alexander continued to see each other and he began to compose his proposal speech. Curry and Alexander were married on July 30, 2011.
