Known as the “Houston Media Plug,” Ms. Cat started out as a local television host in the hip hop video community and has grown her brand to now include producing and broadcasting for various stations. On Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, Ms. Cat launched her official broadcasting company, Ms. Cat TV, with an awards banquet for rising media stars at the Mosaic Bar and Lounge in Midtown, Houston.

“The reason why I am having this launch is because I wanted people to know that we are more than just a TV network. We are actually a full production company offering videography and photography services and a full staff of agents who are connected to major networks that can shop your commercial or pilot around after we have created it. This means that our clients have a 90% chance of getting a better deal and that’s what sets us apart from the other production companies out there. Not only will you get high quality content but we can actually get your footage into the right hands. Ms. Cat TV is getting your product in front of networks such as BET, TV One, OWN and other outlets rather than just saying, ‘here’s a hot commercial,’” said Ms. Cat as she announced her company’s initiative.

To close out the evening, Ms. Cat honored Houston’s rising stars in radio, film and television with an awards ceremony and champagne toast. The Rising Stars Award recipients included Fox 26 News Digital Content Producer Marcus Sullivan; Millionaire Matchmaker reality star and talk show host Amber Neal; Houston Media Source producer and talk show host Dawn Paul; Houston Forward Times reporter and CNN correspondent Jeffrey Boney; Christian filmmaker Frederick Alonzo and Houston Texan’s sports videographer Richard Walker.

“I think that this is the beginning. This is where the media industry is shifting. Houston is going to become the next market outside of Atlanta, LA and NYC. Ms. Cat TV plans to be right there at the forefront of this movement helping to push for more opportunities and more contracts for us independent media outlets” said Ms. Cat TV publicist and Thinkzilla PR CEO Velma Trayham. “This is definitely the time to get on board or get left behind.”
