Bernard and Shirley Kinsey’s An Evening of Legacy virtual tour and reception

Bernard Kinsey sharing our history

The Nate Holden Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles was packed with guests to see Bernard Kinsey take them through a virtual tour of the renowned Kinsey Collection museum exhibit that exposes a trove of facts about our history heretofore hidden, obscured and denied by others.

This phenomenal collection actually contains hundreds of original historical documents reflecting on Black people in America starting a hundred years before slavery even began in the US all the way through the modern civil rights era. Sponsored by the Ebony Repertory Theater, there was a VIP champagne reception & book signing that followed the presentation.

From now through 2016 “Re-Discovering America: Family Treasures from the Kinsey Collection,” exhibit is open at Epcot and I highly recommend that anyone going to that area include a visit to see this exhibit and learn so, so much of our history that you have never seen before. Visit www.thekinseycollection.com for more information, watch videos of Lance Gross, Lauren London, Talib Kweli, Jordin Sparks and others discuss the collection and learn some “ourstory”. Enjoy the pictures from this evening on the last day of Black History Month 2015. [cigallery]
