Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound Gospel Tour Hits Chicago
The Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound judges were in Chicago recently and are on a national tour to select the choirs that will participate in a gospel singing competition for a chance to win up to $50,000 in cash and prizes.
Chicago’ s top choirs include:
- Dexter Walker and Zion Movement
- Voices of St. James
- The Wheaton College Gospel Choir
- Andre Crittenden & the L.A.W. (Living Anointed Warriors)
- Anthony McGahee and Praise Motivated
- Gregg and F.R.I.E.N.D.S Choir
The winning choir from Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound regional competition will then have an opportunity to represent their region at the grand finale event in New York city on Nov. 4, 2012, and compete for the title “Best Gospel Choir in America.”
‘Sweetie Pie’s’ Stars Join the Celebration
Former Ikette Robbie Montgomery took her mother’s soul food recipes passed down through the generations and created the empire known as “Sweetie Pie’s,” St. Louis’ iconic and wildly popular soul food restaurant run by Miss Robbie. “Sweetie Pie’s” is a ratings winner for the Oprah Winfrey Network, and the show’s stars were in Chicago recently during Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound gospel competition. This season, Miss Robbie’s son, Tim, will marry his fiancée Jenae, and will also juggle his role as manager, new dad, and future rapper.
