Whole Foods’ ‘Girls’ Night Out’ promotes for a cause with iwi fresh

Skyy Wonders and Yolanda Owens

Whole Foods on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta hosts another successful night of “Girls Night Out” — a monthly event in the name of philanthropy with proceeds to benefit the Whole Planet Foundation. The mission is poverty alleviation through microcredit in communities around the world that supply Whole Foods Market stores with product.

Iwi Fresh’s Skin Care Chef Yolanda Owens brought along her partner Skyy Wonders Founder of 40+Wonders to celebrate with other amazing entrepreneur women in business. Special thanks to Judi Chancey for her Judi Cakes and Tassili Maat, the raw vegan chef and owner of Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe for doing the henna tattoos; Jenifer Spratley for teaching me the importance of exfoliating; and Julie Kendall for her refreshing bath salts.

Ladies were lavished with brown sugar scrub hand massages with a choice of different fragrances by Iwi Fresh’s Yaya. The most memorable feature was the chair massage (which I never got to experience). I was living vicariously through everyone who sat in that chair. The remarks were all related to the term “heavenly.” Who knew such bright rays of sunshine existed inside Whole Foods on such a rainy afternoon. Speaking of ray of sunshine, the ladies were gawking over the exuberant skin of “Chuice Drink” owner Ladell Hill, a molecular health specialist who created the drink called “The Chuice” which he describes as:

“One of a kind juice made fresh every day in Mother Nature’s kitchen,’ having pieces of ingredients in the drink which makes it not so completely liquid. You will be chewing bits of nuts and fruit as you are drinking them offers a different, more wholesome experience than a plain fruit juice mix.”

We are looking forward to seeing Ladell later this month on the Dr. Oz show. We also learned of him teaming up with Tom Joyner and several health conscious celebrities. It’s amazing how humble beginning getting your product placed in whole foods can certainly go a long way for anybody’s brand. I hope to see you all next month for #ThursdayBliss with 40+ and #GirlsNightOut with Iwi Fresh and Whole Foods.
