Farrakhan to Gays: “I’m Your Brother and I Do Love You” But —

Minister Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, spoke out recently concerning President Obama’s sanction of gay marriage, a move that earned him the Newsweek title, of “First Gay President.”

Here’s an abbreviated transcript:

“Don’t you dare say Farrakhan was preaching hate, he’s homophobic.

“I’m not afraid of my brothers, sisters or others who may be practicing what God condemned in the day of Lot.

“That’s not our job to be hateful of our people.

Our job is to call us to sanity. Our job is to call the people to righteous conduct. The Koran says Satan has made evil for seeming to them.

“… Our president just agreed to same-sex marriage. Now listen, just listen, if you’re in that behavior now you’re freezing up on me, I’m not your enemy. I’m your brother and I do love you.

“I’m not here to make you feel bad because Farrakhan is talking [about gays] and [I] may not be that.

“Jesus says if you offend in one thing you’re offending them all.

“So the fornicator cannot look at the lesbian or the homosexual and say that I’m better than you. The liar, the thief, the gambler, the pimp, the lowlife, you can’t look at those who are gay or lesbian or transgender and say, “I’m better than you.”

“Sin is sin according to the standard of God.

“… He’s older than time itself you mean to tell me He doesn’t have a right to tell you how to live the life He gave you? Are you telling me that His sovereignty means nothing? That what society says means more than what God says?

“Then reverend, synagogue leader, Catholic priest, is this the book that you say you believe in? But now you’re backing down from an aspect of it because people would get offended?

“… Here’s Newsweek magazine with Pres. Obama on the cover with the colors representing the gay community as a halo over his head. And it’s saying, ‘The First Gay President.’

“Now, you think they are not mocking him? I’ve never heard from [First Lady] Michele [Obama] that our brother …was absent from duty. But he’s the first president that sanctioned what the scriptures forbid.

“… Let me tell you something if I didn’t love you, I would go along with you. Love sometimes has to rebuke those whom you love and in rebuking them you’re not saying you’re better, you’re only saying what God has said, that we have to clean ourselves up to that standard.”

The frustration of modern day Black leaders is, you can’t make Black people do what you want them to do.  Many have tried and many have failed!

You know that, I know that but until Black people know it there’s nothing you can do.
