What Mitt Romney Really Thinks About You; Private Thoughts Go Public

So, this is how Mitt Romney really thinks of half the country? The Republican presidential candidate believes that almost 50 percent of Americans need to be written off because they are lazy, act like victims, don’t take responsibility for their lives, don’t pay their taxes and are not worth his time and effort to reach them.

A secret recording from a $50,000 closed-door Romney fundraiser, which was released by David Corn at Mother Jones (motherjones.com), may have sunk Mitt Romney’s campaign to the very depths of destruction.

On the explosive video, which can be seen in its entirety below, Romney explains that his electoral strategy involves writing off nearly half the country as unmovable Obama voters, The Washington Post reports.

What are the Obama voters in Romney’s opinion? Well, as Romney explains, they are the 47 percent of Americans “believe that they are victims.” He laments to wealthy contributors: “I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

What is Romney’s response to what he thinks are irresponsible Americans? “My job is not to worry about those people,” he says. He also notes, describing President Obama’s base, “These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax.”

The disdain in Romney’s words is palpable and frightening for  a man who is perilously close to leading those worthless 47 percent of Americans for the next four years. If you are a minority in America, Romney believes you automatically support Obama and you are not worth his time.

We now know that Romney’s visit to the NAACP annual convention was a complete farce and utter joke. That NAACP audience is part of the 47 percent, the so-called immovable Obama voters, whom he says pays no taxes. Wow, that’s news to me.

Romney already has trouble relating to the public and convincing people he cares about them. Now, he’s been caught on video saying that nearly half the country consists of hopeless losers.

Romney has been vigorously denying President Obama’s claims that his tax plan would raise taxes on the middle class. Now, he’s been caught on video suggesting that low- and middle-income Americans are undertaxed. I’ll repeat that. Romney says the poor and working class are “undertaxed.” This means that Romney would do precisely what Obama said he would, raise taxes on the working and middle class and lower taxes for the wealthy who already don’t pay their fair share.

Romney’s statements also smack of blatant hypocrisy. It is especially problematic given the speculation about what’s on Mitt’s unreleased pre-2010 tax returns that he has yet to reveal to the electorate.

Corn tells us there are more embarrassing moments on segments of the video he hasn’t released yet. Romney jokes that he’d be more likely to win the election if he were Hispanic. He makes some awkward comments about whether he was born with a “silver spoon” in his mouth.

But those are survivable. The really disastrous thing is the clip about “victims,” and the combination of contempt and pity that Romney shows for anyone who isn’t going to vote for him.

Romney is the most opaque presidential nominee since Nixon (who also said some things on tape he wished he could have taken back. But I digress.) and people have been reduced to guessing what he really thinks and believes. This video provides provides a clue into what he thinks about you and what he intends to do to you if he becomes president. He just didn’t have the courage to say it publicly.

I have been saying it since the republican primaries. Just Keep Talking. Please Keep Talking. Just Don’t Stop Talking. The american people may not be as in love with Pres. Obama as we were in 2008 but We Can’t Stand Mitt Romney. And everyday he keeps giving us a new reason to despise everything he stands for. Any body who votes for this entitled nut case after all of this bumbling, should evaluate what makes them hate Pres. Obama because that is the only thing Romney offers as a candidate. He Ain’t Pres.
