Jason Brown: NFL player quits football and builds farm to feed the hungry

Jason Brown was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2005 and earned a lot of money. In 2009, he signed a five-year deal with the St. Louis Rams that was worth $37.5 million with a $20 million guarantee. In March 2012, he was released by the Rams and instead of taking it as a personal tragedy, he transformed his life and is impacting the life of others. Brown purchased a 1,030 acre farm near Louisburg, North Carolina, and began the life of a farmer and food activist. He raises food for the hungry of the community and last weekend he gave away 46,000 pounds a sweet potatoes and another 10,000 pounds of cucumbers. Brown attributes his generosity to his faith and his belief that you should “live your life for a purpose.” See his story below:
