Burglar uses obituaries for home invasions

Burglars have apparently taken crime to another level.

Police of counties in South Eastern Michigan are currently searching for a man who has been breaking into people’s homes in several counties surrounding the Detroit area, including Washtenaw, Livingston, Monroe and Oakland counties.

These aren’t your typical burglaries or average victims, this burglar has been hitting up grieving families while they are attending funerals for their loved ones. As if stealing isn’t low down enough, it appears that this criminal has been searching the Internet for obituaries so that he knows exactly when families will be gone and can estimate how long they will be away so that he can commit this scandalous crime.

One funeral home employee even mentioned to police during their investigation that they had a man call to see if a family had arrived for the funeral service. The act of theft is pretty despicable, but preying on grieving families and breaking into their homes is disgusting and unforgivable. Police have obtained surveillance photos during their investigation but are still on the prowl for this funeral felon.
