A teenage student forced his classmate to stop writing in blue because of the significance of gang colors. In a video released by Fly Height, a student is working on a math problem in the front of the class and is confronted by a male.

The alleged gang member  approaches his classmate and says, “What is this?” His classmate looks confused and remains silent. Another student can be heard in the background yelling, “Why is it in blue?” The alleged gang member was upset because blue is the primary color worn by Crips gang members.

The alleged gang member tells his classmate, “Erase all of that” and begins to erase the blue markings on the board. The alleged gang member leaves and tells his classmate, “Do it correctly.”

His classmate puts the blue marker down and writes in black instead. The alleged gang member throws up a sign and says, “Su-Wu,” a reference used by the Bloods.

Unfortunately, the alleged gang member was more concerned about the color of a marker than the actual math problem. It reveals what could be a glimpse of a sad plight. The gang member doesn’t see any significance of learning math in what could possibly lead to a better education and a better future. For him, his future is dependent on small victories because he can’t imagine winning in the long run. At this moment, he has accepted his fate as a gang member and only seeks to achieve in the world that he knows best.
