Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still made headlines last year, not for his football career, but for his daughter Leah’s plight with a rare pediatric cancer. After nearly a year of treatment, the NFL baller announced some great news regarding the love of his life. Leah is cancer free!

“That moment you get the best news you’ve ever received and don’t know what to do so you just flex!! We got Leah’s MIBG Scans back tonight and the doctors told us they didn’t see any active disease in her body!!! We still have to wait for her MRI and bone biopsy results later this week. But the doctors feel very optimistic about them because of the results from today. So for now we celebrate!! #LeahStrong” Still wrote in a touching Instagram post.

Last June, Leah was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma. Since then, the 4-year-old has undergone surgeries to remove a cancerous tumor from her stomach, as well as chemotherapy and stem-cell treatments. Last October, Ellen DeGeneres spoke to Still via satellite, where we learned about Leah’s passion and strength and the effect of his colleagues’ support within the NFL community.

“It’s meant everything to us,” Still told Ellen. “Especially going to New England and seeing all the Patriots cheerleaders wearing my jersey to support my daughter and other kids fighting cancer. It’s not only helping out my family, but it’s helping out those families as well.”
