ESPN Suspends Jalen Rose After DUI Arrest

ESPN executives are upset that they learned about Jalen Rose‘s DUI arrest after the incident was first reported by a Detroit television station.

According to reports, Rose did not inform ESPN officials,  and they found out about it three weeks after it occurred.

The company has since decided to pull Rose off the air until the case is resolved. With the NBA season coming to a close, its likely that Rose will not appear on ESPN until next season.

But while ESPN encourages their on-air talents to disclose any negative situations that could be embarrassing to the company, their contracts do not require employees to notify management on personal issues.

Rose has been in the midst of controversy since the airing of the Fab Five documentary on ESPN. In the film, Rose revealed that he viewed Duke players as Uncle Toms during his teenage years.

On the day Rose was arrested, he was in Detroit to open a charter school for urban youth. –amir shaw
