Rolling out spoke exclusively to ESPN television personality and Sirius/XM radio host Stephen A. Smith on the eve of the biggest fight ever between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao at MGM Grand Garden Arena shortly after the weigh in.

The opinionated Smith stated why he thought Mayweather would be victorious and remain undefeated.

“I think he’s the better boxer,” Smith said. “I think he’s bigger, I think he’s got a better reach, I think he’s a defensive wizard, and I think he goes about the business of being a bit more judicious and intelligent in the ring.”

The First Take co-host also detailed why he thinks Pacquiao will not win.

“Manny is accustomed to taking risks. Even though I think that he’ll be smarter in this fight, old habits die hard. I find it very, very hard to believe that he’s not going to do some of the things that I’m accustomed to seeing him do, and as a result I think Floyd will get him because of it.”

I asked Smith what a victory by Floyd mean to his legacy.

“Well it would cement it. He’s already recognized as one of the all-time greats, and I think that if he wins this fight, particularly in convincing fashion, there will leave no doubt as to his greatness,” Smith said. “He will shut all the naysayers up, and that would be that. So this is the mega-fight of his illustrious career. He knows it, regardless of how much he does not want to admit it. It’s the situation that he is in. If he loses this fight, he will be more remembered for this loss than he was for the 47 wins, and that would just kill him, and that’s why I don’t see it happening.”
