LeBron James foolish for returning to Dan Gilbert and ungrateful Cleveland Cavs fans

LeBron James has decided to give the Cavs erratic owner and ungrateful fans a second chance.

When James made the initial decision, Cleveland Cavs owner Dan Gilbert wrote a scathing letter in which he attacked James’ character and called him a coward. The letter was more than an emotional cry, it had the feel of an owner who viewed a black man as his property.

Jesse Jackson spoke out against Gilbert by saying, “His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runway slave. This is an owner employee relationship, between business partners, LeBron honored his contract.”

The letter stayed on the Cleveland Cavs website for four years. Gilbert only took the letter down weeks ago when it became clear that James was considering the Cavs as a viable option.

James said that he recently spoke to Gilbert and the two were able to reconcile their differences. However, Gilbert’s apology can’t be sincere. The letter doesn’t stay on the website for four years if that was the case.

From a financial standpoint, Gilbert makes more money with James on his team. Of course he will apologize when it’s convenient.

Furthermore, Cavs fans proved to be ungrateful for burning James’ jerseys and booing him ferociously every time he returned to Cleveland. And last month, Cleveland fans gave ugly racist responses after a Cleveland newspaper asked readers to name James’ unborn daughter.

James is a nice guy who values his friends and family. That’s why he’s returning to Cleveland because the team is still a long way from winning an NBA title.

But it also proves that he’s the anti-Kobe. He basically just allowed another man to spit in his face without repercussion. Some things are just too severe to forgive and forget.
