LeBron James’ Poor NBA Finals Performance Will Haunt Him the Entire Summer

Great NBA players come alive when it matters the most. Wilt, Bill, Kareem, Michael, Magic and Kobe. When the NBA Finals were on the line, those players recognized the moment and took advantage of the opportunity to be champions.

LeBron James wants to be in that class and could be in the near future. But in the 2011 NBA Finals, James disappeared when his team needed him the most.

His play in the fourth quarter of each game was so atrocious that it often seemed as if he had forgotten how to play the game of basketball. He made rookie mistakes and was passive when he needed to be aggressive.

Although the entire Miami Heat team should take blame for missing 13 free throws in game six, a 105-95 loss to the Mavs, James will be most criticized. He had an efficient game on paper by scoring 21 points on 15 shot attempts. But the Heat needed him to be as good as Wilt, Bill, Kareem, Michael, Magic, Kobe or even LeBron, circa 2007. There was a time when he could carry his team on his back with ease.

During a playoff game against the Detroit Pistons in 2007, he scored 29 of the Cleveland Cavs’ last 30 points. It was one of the most amazing scoring performances in NBA history.

But in this year’s finals, James failed to score more than 21 points. James’ teammate, Dwyane Wade, had two MVP-like performances in the finals by scoring 36 and 32 points.

Uber-King James was nowhere to be found in this series, and his detractors will remind him of his subpar play during the entire summer. –amir shaw

I’m tired of ppl blaming LeBron it takes a team to win a championship. Where was chirs bosh, mike miller, or haslim? You guys act like one man can do it alone. Jordan even had help

I am so proud of Lebron, for his effort on the court, and feel that he will get his championships. Being from Akron, I automatically was rooting hard for Lebron, I unlike scores of Cav’s fan’s understand that this is a business, and he gave Cleveland a chance, they could not get it done. I am more proud of what this young man does in the Akron community! He buy’s school uniforms, winter coats, tennis shoes, schools supplies, re-build’s  community center’s, and the most important thing! He employ’s people he grew up. Not to mention manages to stay out of trouble. Blackthoughtzzz!!!!!!

This is the NBA. This year more parody than others. Dallas had the best team this year. Charles Barkley called it. Dallas is a great team with a great superstar. Miami is a good team with 2 great players. Let’s see what they do next year.

LeBron has truly become a lightning rod for basketball as ESPN found out a long time ago that he moves the meter. He needs to get off of Twitter, stop reading the papers and focus on basketball.
He can become a global icon or whatever after he’s got a few titles under his belt. If you think about it, all Dallas’ players do is play basketball. There’s no celeb-life and all these other things that LeBron has going on. It’s what Shaq’s issue was for a long time too. My advice to LeBron is to focus on Bball and don’t worry about the hatred and stupidity of people who don’t even know you.
If people make you out to be the bad guy so what??? Put on that black hat and go brotha! We’ll be watching.

its not fair to blame it on him becuase he did everything but look at bosh . i mean he played great but i felt chirs had a shot at making some of the biggest shots in game 6 of the nba finals. but it failed.

another thing is I agree that everybody needs to back off on lebron and just becuase he lost in the finals does not mean he suck or whatever . becasuse the trught is i am a warrior and lebron is a king. so if king james is ringless then derrick rose is too. so back off the lebron critics!
