Michael Jordan allegedly asked Magic Johnson for advice when his daughter came out

Michael Jordan’s daughter, Jasmine Jordan, was the talk of the town earlier this month when she surprisingly came out of the closet and revealed her relationship with her girlfriend, Carmen Tyson-Thomas, via a series of Instagram posts. Since then, her famous father has been publicly silent on the matter but a new report claims that Jordan sought the advice of the NBA’s biggest LGBT ally, Magic Johnson, for advice on his daughter’s sexuality.

According to the National Enquirer, via Eurweb, Jordan was concerned that Jasmine might be gay so he consulted with Johnson on how to deal with her coming out. Johnson allegedly told Jordan to “just love her and let her know that she owes it to herself to be 100 percent genuine and live her life to the fullest.”

The report claims that Jordan and Jasmine’s mother, Jaunita, struggled with their daughter’s sexuality.

“Michael is having mixed emotions that his only daughter could be gay,” an insider revealed. “Michael loves all of his kids unconditionally but he was shocked to find out about Jasmine. He never saw it coming.”

“Michael and (his ex-wife) Juanita are both at a loss; they’re concerned about how this will affect Jasmine’s future,” the insider added.

However, Jordan was allegedly impressed by the way Johnson immediately and unabashedly showed love and support for his son, EJ, when he publicly came out earlier this year.

“Magic told him all of those things can still happen for Jasmine,” the insider added. “It just might not be with a man.”

We’re not sure how accurate the report is, but we hope that Jordan does indeed accept and support his daughter for all that she is.
