Police chief lied about St. Louis Rams apology for players’ support of Mike Brown

Another false accusation has come from a St. Louis official. One day after the  St. Louis Police Officers Association blasted the St. Louis Rams for allowing their players to protest the killing of Mike Brown and failure to indict Darren Wilson, St. Louis County Police Chief claimed that the team issued an apology.

Nick Wagoner tweeted that St. Louis Rams COO, Kevin Demoff, apologized for the actions of his players. However, according to ESPN, Demoff said that he never apologized for the actions of his players. Instead, he showed remorse for how their actions may have been interpreted.

Shortly before taking on the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens and Kenny Britt of the St. Louis Rams showed support for  Brown by raising their hands in the air and yelling, “Hands up, don’t shoot!”

It was a powerful moment that was reminiscent of Tommie Smith and John Carlos’ black fists protest in the 1968  Olympics.

The NFL met with the St. Louis Rams on Monday to discuss the actions of the players. After the meeting, it was determined that the players will not be fined for showing support for Mike Brown.
