A Black woman slandered Gabby Douglas, claiming ‘she needs to get a perm first’. A 16 yr old repping THE COUNTRY & your focus is her hair?

First of all, anyone ridiculing her hair is suffering from SS and not Social Security , but Slavery Syndrome… This is a state of self-hatred instilled slaves when they were brought to this country and became brutally aware of their physical differences. They were taught that white was right and light, bright damn near white ran a close second. Anyhing other than the two was beyond ugly and unworthy of anything but harsh critique and inhumane abuse. They were taught to not only hate themselves, but hate each other as well. Sadly, this trait became a part of their DNA and generation after generation it gets passed on and on. Thus the ignorance that has been displayed against Gabby.
Black folks are so busy trying to be everybody else, that they have diminished their own greatness, power and strength. Meanwhile, those who robbed them of their dignity are busy emulating everything they taught them to hate about themselves.
Black is ugly, but they want to tan
Your hair is nappy, but they get perms to kink and curl there’s up
The black man is a good for nothing, but they scooping’em up left and right and loving him as if black women don’t possess the ability
Our big lips and azzes are a mockery, but they get collagen injections and booty implants
Ask yourselves, is black really that bad? Or are you really that dumb? Either way, you lose. I’m just saying…
you are an idiot. selfhatred instilled when you were brought over here? who did the white man buy the slaves from. who were fighting and eating each other before the white man came in the picture? you are right it’s in the dna but was there long before the white man came in the picture. who robbed you of your dignity? don’t know if you have looked at the black countries lately but they don’t seem to be doing so well. Is this the white mans fault? I’ve never had any slaves nor known any but it appears to me you are much beter here than your homeland.wanna go back? You have the same no a better opotunity than any white person , with all these programs avalliable, heck they even lowered the standards on going to college to help the minorities.. HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU WANT TO BLAME ON THE WHITE MAN……. the reason black men are with or want to be with white women is because black women are the hatfullest , most raceist, most selfcentered ignorant people on earth… not to mention quiet ugly tooo……..
You have no right. Shut up and sit down while the adults talk. Go play with your sandbox in a dark corner, you ass.
It’s a sad day when we just focus on “hair” and not history! Who cares about hair when you are focused on making history and doing your best. I went natural about 6 years ago mainly because I was battling a chronic illness that has kept me in and out of the hospital and on meds like steroids. Always had long hair and I am very picky when it comes to my hair. So I just grew the perm out…yes it was a task because my hair is thick. I always ell people I don’t have “good” hair I have tamed hair…smile. because of my health, I have been working out on a consitant basis. The exercise of my choice has been ZUMBA. It is no joke! No that I don’t have a perm, my hair kinks up because I sweat a lot! Well because Zumba is making me healthy and fit at 48 1/2, i don’t think about my thick, nappy, kinky hair until I get home cause my focus is on the workout and health. I am at Zumba class not church, dinner, movies or out on a date. When working out my hair is secondary. I shared all of this to say LEAVE GABBY alone! I was so proud of her! She looked good! Hair and make-up! She was at the Olympics her focus was making history for her team, herself, the USA and being a role model for those to come. Now when she comes home is on the cover of JET, EBONY, PEOPLE or any other photo shoot that is when she will be concern about how she looks. THANK YOU GABBY FOR MAKING US PROUD! May God continue to bless and keep you.
Amen to that!
If Black people can’t ‘work out’ becuase of their hair, then we as Black people won’t ‘get anywhere’ becuase we don’t have WILL POWER! Not attacking each other would too!
Judges inflating her score so much it is almost comical. Diversity shoved down our faces again for advertising. Oh gee, she is way out in front for the individual title as well, Who could have expected that?? EVERYONE! This is turning into Olympic Boxing type scoring…
I think you are jealous Army. I really doubt that a panel of international judges are concerned about “shoving diversity” down your throat. Crawl back under your stone.
You just hate to see or even hear that a person of color in today’s world is truly judged by “The Content of Their Character” instead of the color of their skin don’t you? Take the blinders off oh weak minded one. The truth is coming to th light and theres nothing you or anyone-else can do to stop it! “GOD is alive” and living through his people; “no matter what the color of their skin!” Real Talk.
Get off Gabby haters, FYI google image pics of her and you’ll see when she’s not winning the gold for our country, she has more “ME” time and can pamper herself, get her hair done, what have you. She is not her hair!!! Dang
I watched her entire performance and never once thought about her hair. I don’t see what’s wrong with it at all, where is this criticism coming from?
To those whom made the negative comments, it too bad your thinking is stuck in a lonely box. Just once step outside of your 50′s 60′s box or twilight zone and see the beauty of a young black girl dream turn into gold in front of the world. Thank you Gabby and congratulation.
She competed, displayed a beautiful example of sportsmanship, and SHE WON!! She is the best gymnast IN THE WORLD. There should be nothing left to say except: Congratulations Gabby Douglas, you earned that gold and you deserved it!!!
Good hair, bad
hair. . . who the hell cares? By whose standards do we judge “good”
or “bad” hair anyway? We foolishly concentrate more on what’s
ON the head than what’s IN it; what’s on the outside more than what’s inside,
and that’s why this world is so messed up.
Imagine a beautiful, young African-American woman working hard, doing her
country PROUD and all people can think about is her hair??!!! GIVE THE YOUNG
LADY A BREAK!!!
On the other hand, Gabrielle Douglas, you had “good” hair BEFORE you
put those chemicals in it. It was “good” because it was your
own, natural God-given hair.
MOTHERS – teach your daughters to love themselves (and their hair) as is, beautiful
African people, we try
to look like anything else BUT – straight hair, pink hair, blue hair, yellow hair.
Passing strange that we don’t
see anyone else foolishly trying to look like us???
When you refer to African people, are you referring to African Americans? Because I want to know what % of “Brown” people are African? I know the term has been shoved down Brown people’s throat in the media, etc, but I think the term is a bit archaic for the times.
CONGRATULATIONS to Gabby. You are a shining star girl, and you made everyone proud. To those of you who would rather focus on her hair, seriously? You need to stop exhibiting your ignorance. Shame on you. You really need to stay in school or return to school, whichever is feasible, and learn some critical thinking skills. Go and acquire some knowledge. Learn what is priority. Learn how to exercise diplomacy and what is foolishness or keep your mouth shut. This blog should have been flooded with nothing more than loving, supportive, praises, and kudos for Gabby because of her huge accomplishment. Not to mention that you couldn’t even touch this 16 year old with a ten foot pole.
only a stupid black person worries about hair
GABBY IS YOU AND I. WHATEVER WE SEE IN HER, WE SHOULD SEE IN OURSELVES. WHAT I SEE IN HER IS TALENT, BEAUTY, PERFECTION, POISE, and EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD and PERFECT. SHE REPRESENTS ME AS A MALE and I AM PROUD OF HER AND ALL THAT SHE HAS ACHIEVED and ALL THAT SHE PERSONIFIES . GABBY, YOU HAVE DONE IT, STAY FOCUSED and PRAYERFUL. MAY THE LIGHT OF GOD ALWAYS SURROUND YOU. MAY THE LOVE OF GOD ALWAYS ENFOLD YOU. MAY THE POWER OF GOD ALWAYS PROTECT YOU, and GABBY, MAY THE PRESENCE OF GOD ALWAYS WATCH OVER YOU. GABBY, JUST REMEMBER: WHEREVER YOU ARE, GOD IS! AND SO IT IS.
Stuff like this makes me embarrassed as a black person, with all of the issues we have in our community, and you have a beautiful, talented young lady with amazing athletic skill and ability who is NOT a statistic, and all we can talk about is her hair!??? Pitiful and embarrassing!
Why don’t you and yours take your asses back to Europe and stay the hell out of other people’s lands and that INCLUDES America, the Indian man’s land! And while you’re at it, make sure to give back ALL, and I do mean ALL the wealth and natural resources that your people stole–I guarantee you would experience some INSTANTANEOUS poverty if you fools were ever forced to give back all that didn’t belong to you, try to stay your raggedy asses out of other countries, and take them fools from Stormfront with you!!
Everyone who is hating on Gabby needs to GET A LIFE! This ia a 16 year old girl! Not only that; she’s completed a goal that none of you have even thought of. “BECOMING SOMEONE WELL RESPECTED AROUND THE WORLD, BEING THE SECOND YOUNG OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST AND THE 1ST, YES THE FIRST BLACK FEMALE TO CONQUER HER FEARS OF BEING SUCCCESSFUL rather than just another face in the crowd! Leave her the f— alone! She’s in the history books. Where are you?
OK Where do I start?
First of all I would like to
say shame on ALL of the IDIOTIC BLACK
WOMEN who have an issue with Gabby’s hair! That’s the problem with some of
our people today worrying about the wrong things, hair, nails, shoes, and bla
bla bla.. What about EXELLENCE AND
ACHIEVEMENT? It’s NOT Gabby’s
responsibility to represent Black hair, Black women, or anything else. The ONLY thing this talented 16 – year old
girl is responsible for is EXELLENCE!
And she represents plenty of it!! She has set a standard of excellence and has set an example
for our youth you idiots only wish you could and NEVER will!! She’s
the BEST role model we ever had for Black teenage girls!! If we were to put
as much emphasis on excellence rather than something as trivial as hair, we
might be better off, and set better examples for our children! And oh yes, I’m a proud BLACK
FATHER of two outstanding teenage girls 16 & 18 who both have high
aspiration and will be attending medical school. The 16 year old has a 96.7
grade point average and finished #11 at the NY State 100 meter track finals in
2012. The 18 year old is about to
embark upon her sophomore year of college. Do I say anything to them about
their hair? HELL NO!!
GET YOUR PRIORITIES TOGETHER FOR THE SAKE OF OUR
CHILDREN, OR SHUT UP!!
I don’t think this article is necessary. People are going to say what ever they want on facebook and twitter. Why would you keep ignorance going and it blow it up even bigger. All I kept thinking as a multicultural (black) male was how proud I was of Gabby and how her smile made me smile also. I came by this garbage article by accident.
Next time you curl your lips to say ‘the white man keepin us down’ remember this nonsense. fools.
No need to worry about what others say. You have won Gold medal for your Country (U.S.A) and the whole country(U.S.A) is very proud of you.
