Days following news that he’s slated to replace Jon Stewart on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah finds himself in the hot seat, after Twitter users uncover several past tweets, which many have claimed are racist and anti-Semitic.

In one tweet Noah wrote, “Almost bumped a Jewish kid crossing the road. He didn’t look b4 crossing but I still would hav felt so bad in my German car.”

But it doesn’t stop there …

When Apple officially inked its deal with Beats by Dre, the comedian shared, “Behind every successful Rap Billionaire is a double as rich Jewish man. #BeatsByDreidel.”

And while the post did receive some backlash at the time of its original posting, the resurfaced tweet has made created some concern for fans and viewers alike. Noah even shot back at his critics, writing, “There’s only one rap billionaire,” in reference to Dr. Dre.

An offended Twitter user responded, writing, “The guy seems to have a problem with Jews….What’s that called again? #DailyShow @Trevornoah.”

He’s also been labeled a misogynist, after the 31-year-old made insensitive jokes about women in 2011, “Oh yeah the weekend. People are gonna get drunk & think that I’m sexy!’ – fat chicks everywhere.” He continued, “A hot white woman with a– is like a unicorn. Even if you do see one, you’ll probably never get to ride it.” and “So I must make my woman fear my penis? RT @UberFacts: The more you fear something, the bigger it appears.”

Although Noah has yet to respond to any of the unearthed tweets, he did tweet (and then delete) acknowledgment that he’s well aware he’s been thrown under the bus. He wrote,. “Twitter does not have enough characters to respond to all the characters on Twitter.”

Do you think Noah is just doing his job as a comedian or are race and religion off the table when poking fun?
