Teresa Giudice pleads guilty

Teresa Giudice has pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud. “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star and her husband, Joe, faced the music Tuesday in front of a judge in the U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., and pleaded guilty to several charges, including the conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and three counts of bankruptcy fraud.

The reality star has since issued a statement to PEOPLE magazine admitting her wrongdoing.

“Today I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago,” said Giudice. I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family. Especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world.”

The Giudices originally pleaded not guilty to the charges in November but switched to guilty pleas as a part of a plea agreement.

Teresa is facing between 21 to 27 months in federal prison while her husband will serve between 37 and 46 months.

Teresa previously made headlines for her cookbook and her ongoing feud with fellow co-star and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga. She is also a good friend of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes.
