Lifetime’s “BAPS” cancelled

Lifetime’s “BAPS” reality show has been cancelled! After only four episodes, the St. Louis-based series, which was scheduled to run for six additional episodes has been pulled.

According to STL Today, the cast was notified individually via email by Asylum Entertainment, informing them that they were out of a job.

The email read,

“I wanted to let you know that Lifetime informed us that they will not be airing the last 2 episodes of BAPS. We’re very sorry it panned out this way. It’s very difficult to build an audience for an ensemble show like this one, but we’re very proud of the show and happy to have had the experience working with you.”

The docu-series which followed a group of privileged friends from St. Louis, Missouri, claiming to be self-proclaimed Black African Princesses and Princes, “always dressed to the nines with egos in tow, and aren’t afraid to share their opinions about the men in their lives and about each other,” saw less than impressive ratings, ranging in the 500,000-600,000 viewership range.
